He has her listen to a strong, female commentator who speaks about the power of women and their abilities to do anything. As the commentator reflects, “If you give women a chance, we can perform. After all, Ginger Rogers did everything Fred Astaire did. She just did it backwards and in high heels.” Sadly, many young people today might not know anything about Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, but that can always open another avenue for discussion between a father and his daughter. The point is: women can do anything. Look at Margaret Thatcher! And there are so many other examples to inspire young girls to reach for the stars and believe in themselves.
