Gavin Maloof, most notably known as the King of Las Vegas, bringing the NHL to Las Vegas, co-owning the Vegas Golden Knights, former co-owner of the NBA’s Sacramento Kings and the Houston Rockets, and executive partner with STAXOS, a technology and telecom company was recently selected to be featured in the 3rd Edition of the Top 50 Fearless Leaders Publication by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP).
While being selected to be published in IAOTP’s Top 50 Fearless Leaders Publication is an honor, only 50 of the world’s most brilliant, courageous, inspirational professionals are selected for this distinction. Gavin is a veteran sports industry leader and entrepreneur with over two decades of NBA ownership. His most recent accomplishment is the Golden Knights winning the coveted Stanley Cup in 2023. Gavin Maloof and his family have a long-standing involvement in sports. Each of the five Maloof siblings has actively participated in high school and collegiate athletics. Achieving ten playoff appearances with the Kings and Rockets, being the first ownership group in the history of the NBA to lead two teams to the Conference Finals (Rockets in 1981 and Kings in 2002), and the Maloof-owned Sacramento Monarchs won the 2005 WNBA Championship. From 1999 until 2007, the Kings sold out 354 consecutive games, one of the longest streaks in NBA history. In a league-wide study performed by J.D. Powers and Associates, The Kings were ranked first in the NBA in overall fan experience in 2001 and 2003.
Even more impressive than the family’s sporting achievements has been the Maloofs’ considerable community impact. The Maloofs place a great value on positively benefiting the communities around them. Gavin and his brother, George Maloof Jr., have played a significant role in establishing and developing Las Vegas Fiesta and Palms hotel casinos. Over the past 30 years, they have also been actively involved in various humanitarian efforts throughout Southern Nevada.
In addition to sports, Gavin is also engaged in other ventures. Gavin is an executive partner at STAXOS, a technology and telecom company. He takes pride in being a sponsor of the award-winning Tequila Comisario. In addition to his professional pursuits, Gavin is also an actor and a skilled guitar player.
Throughout his remarkable career, Mr. Maloof has received awards, accolades, and worldwide recognition for his accomplishments. Earlier this year, Mr. Maloof was awarded Top Influential Entrepreneur of the Year and Lifetime Achievement Award 2023 by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP).
