Homegrown business Evans Electric & Outdoor Lighting is reaching out and growing thanks to the community support and the customer base the company has established.
“Southport is my home. Born and raised here and to have my own business is a dream come true. Then, to experience the support from the community from homeowners and businesses to local government, is just amazing,” Mr. Evans said. “Support from everywhere is so wonderful, we are announcing a new effort.”
Evans Electric, in business since 2018, is expanding its reach. The company has partnered with the Soaring Away online marketing company to spread the word about the services the company offers.
“Here’s the thing. I put customer service first. Period, full stop, end of sentence. I listen to what my customers tell me because that is true customer service,” Mr. Evans said. “What they say is I need to do more to market and promote Evans Electric. They say South Central North Carolina needs to know they have a quality electrician to call.”
He put some thought to the idea and said he realized they are correct. However, devoting more time to marketing Evans Electric meant he’d had less time to give customers what they wanted.
The third-generation electrician decided he needed to focus on why he started his business, electrical service, outdoor lighting and landscaping lighting for residential and commercial customs.
“I am electrician. It is what I love, what I do and who I am,” he said.
So he looked around and found the highly rated Soaring Away marketing company. Other companies had great things to say. At the same time, Holly Powell and her crew are selective about which companies they partner with.
“We did some homework. We checked on Tyler’s reputation. We had to know, if you call Evans Electrical for lighting or electric needs, will you be satisfied. The answer was a definite yes,” Ms. Powell said. “We look forward to telling more people across the Southport region about the quality work Tyler offers.”
Part of that work is getting the Evans Electric website up and running. Once done, the site will host pictures of Mr. Evans’ work and the full suite of services he offers. It already has a link to request a bid for work.
